Welfare journal, 1948-1984.

The Board of County Commissioners' welfare journals document the appropriation of social services' funds. Volumes include: payment schedule numbers and amounts; descriptions of individual circumstances, and dates for each fund appropriation. Examples of expenditures include: aid to dependent children and the disabled; child day care; food and cash subsidies; rent allowances; and payment to doctors for services rendered. On each page there is a statement signed by the commissioners indicating that they met in regular session to approve fund appropriation.
